1. Who we are
ApplyKit (applykit.site) is a tool that generates tailored CV, cover letter, and interview pitch documents using AI. We are committed to handling your data responsibly and in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
2. What data we collect
We collect only the minimum data required to provide the service:
- Profile information you enter in the form (name, experience, education, skills). This is stored exclusively in your browser's
localStorage— it never leaves your device unless you submit a generation request. - Job description / URL you provide. This is transmitted to our server only to generate your documents and is not retained afterwards.
- Payment data. Payments are processed entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
3. How we use your data
Your data is used solely to generate your requested documents. Once generated, documents are held in server memory for a maximum of 2 hours to allow you to download them, after which they are automatically purged. We do not use your data for any other purpose, including marketing or analytics.
4. Data storage and retention
- Browser (localStorage): Your profile is saved locally on your device. Clearing your browser data or cache will erase it permanently.
- Server: Generated documents are kept in volatile memory for up to 2 hours, then deleted. No data is written to a persistent database.
5. Third-party services
- Stripe — payment processing. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- Groq — AI inference for document generation. Prompts are sent to Groq's API and are subject to Groq's Privacy Policy.
6. Your rights (GDPR)
Under GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of any personal data we hold. Because we do not persist your data beyond the 2-hour generation window, there is typically nothing to delete. If you have a concern, contact us at hello@applykit.site and we will respond within 30 days.
7. Cookies
We use a single, strictly necessary session cookie (applykit_session) to verify your payment and allow you to download your purchased documents. No tracking or advertising cookies are used.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
